A look at this week’s top high school soccer games in Southland:
Corona Shatabdi (7-0, 2-0) (6-1, 2-0) at Norco, 7:30 pm
It’s been six months since Norco ended the Centennial’s 57-game league winning streak with a 38-36 win in the pandemic-delayed spring season. Huskies have not forgotten. They are motivated and have a better defense this season with few weaknesses. It’s up to the versatile narco quarterback Kyle Crum, a former centenarian player, and Jaydn Ott to run back. Pick: Centenary.
Palisades (7-0, 2-0) in Hamilton (6-0, 2-0), 7 p.m.
Two surprisingly unbeaten teams meet to determine the title of the Western League. Palisades relies on running back Daniel Anoh, averaging 12.1 yards per carry and closing in on a 1,000-yard run. Hamilton has a more balanced attack and will try to trouble by controlling the clock. Pick: Palisades.
